Texas Monthly senior editor Paul Burka, with Nate Blakeslee, just released their best and worst legislators for the session.
Burka has for more than 20 years looked at which lawmakers honored their chambers, won the respect of their colleagues and made a mark during the session - regardless of their politics. Many chose to argue, but it has become the most anxiously awaited list that comes out biennially. Those on the best wear it proudly. Those on the worst discount it as political axe-grinding.
Special note. Burka rarely has included leadership in the list, but made an exception for lite Gov. David Dewhurst this year. His explanations will follow with the magazaine's publications.
