Plano girl praised in House chamber

Ashley Donaldson has had a decent couple of weeks.

The 15-year-old Plano girl found an envelope filled with $2,000 outside a Chase bank in North Dallas. When the Dallas police department told her the money would go to the city's general fund, Donaldson received more than $5,500 in donations. (The department end up handing over the money.)

And this morning, the House stood her on the dais and praised her decency.

"You don't get to hear a lot of good stories in the press," said Jodie Laubenberg, R-Parker. "This is one of them."
