Newt Gingrich on Hannity: (Mostly) Context-Free Highlights

In case you missed newly-declared presidential candidate hosting visiting Sean Hannity's Fox News program on Wednesday evening, feel free to watch the video herein. But maybe you prefer interviews that begin with questions, or journalism that contains more of the facts and less of the boosting of recent employees. John H. Richardson's profile of Gingrich in Esquire last year — "The Indispensable Republican" — is that kind of journalism. It's the kind that takes Gingrich's "answers" on Wednesday (witness this Holder slander: "His record out of office between the Clinton years and today was such that it should have disqualified him from serving ... and in fact the U.S. House should be investigating what his beliefs") and answers for them. Newt said it himself: "If you're a conservative, you have to start with the assumption that you're not gonna get an even break from the elite media." Even, yes; a break, never.

After the jump, quotes from Gingrich on Fox, and facts from Esquire....
