Perry campaign manager Rob Johnson named senior adviser

Rick Perry campaign manager Rob Johnson is going into the governor's office as a senior advisor. Johnson was part of the political team that directed Perry's successful reelection campaign -- from knocking off challenger Kay Bailey Hutchison in the GOP primary to swamping Democrat Bill White in the general election. We reported after the November election that Johnson was bound for Perry's office in the Capitol. He's seen as a rising GOP star, especially now that Perry plans to expand his national profile as a tea party-friendly figure in the months ahead by traveling in support of states rights.

Also, Jeff Boyd will be the governor's general counsel. Perry has also named Brandy Marty director of Budget, Planning and Policy; Milton Rister director of Administration; and Sarah Floerke deputy legislative director and House liaison.
