The current tally is 7-1 for the plan submitted to the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform today by its co-chairs, Erskine Bowles and Alan Simpson.
The actual vote is Friday. Congressional leaders have agreed to take up the proposals if 14 of 18 members of the White House fiscal commission support it.
The yes votes:
Bowles and Simpson.
Sens. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., and Judd Gregg, R-N.H., the chairman and senior Republican on the Senate Budget Committee.
Alice Rivlin, a Democrat who served as White House budget director under Bill Clinton.
David Cote, chairman of Honeywell International (a Republican)
Ann Fudge, former CEO, Young & Rubicam Brands (a political independent)
The only no vote so far: Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill.
That's three from each party, plus the only independent on the panel.
Lots of undeclared commissioners.
