Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples' televised horseback romp has won him post-election credit.
Staples' campaign ad, which he used to beat Democratic rival Hank Gilbert, earned "Best Advertising - Statewide" from political newsletter Capitol Inside.
The ad features Staples riding from gas station to grocery store while explaining his role. Jubilee, an old quarter horse, buries his nose in a woman's grocery bag as Staples promises to ensure "no Texan is dependent on food from foreign sources."
Then he rides off into the sunset of another election victory.
