Grover Norquist and Paul Krugman, Together at Last

In the 36 hours since President Obama's bipartisan debt-reduction commission released a rough blueprint for how the country might dig itself out of a massive financial hole, we've heard jeremiads from the Leftand the Right telling us just how bad this thing stinks. And we would forgive all the cynicism and hysteria were this issue of not of such critical importance that a certain monthly periodical — okay, us — felt the need to devote eight pages in our November issue to introducing a deficit-reduction plan of our own. Did we mention this was the Sexiest Woman Alive issue? Have you seen the Minka Kelly pictures? But no: balancing the budget should be America's top domestic priority, and if it means Americans have to live without more pictures of Minka, so be it.

To the people on the Right...
