Perry's change of heart. Texas got musta got a lot rainier in two weeks.

Gov. Rick Perry signed off on tapping the rainy day fund today. Yet he seemed so adamantly, sincerely, immovably against it just two weeks ago when we asked him about it:

Perry reiterated that he is against using any money in the rainy-day fund, which is expected to grow to $9.4 billion by August 2013.

"I will be rather vocal about my opposition," said Perry, in Washington to meet with fellow Republican governors.

"And I don't think that will be coming to my desk anytime soon," he said. "I'm not for getting into the rainy-day fund. There is substantially more work that we have to do, looking for places to reduce spending, etc. Having that conversation at this particular juncture is way premature."
